En mai 1957, une expédition de cartographes anglais part reconnaitre le tracé de l’Amazone entre le comptoir d’Obidos et la ville de Manáos. Elle y découvre la carcasse rongée d’un sous-marin allemand de la Seconde Guerre mondiale, un U-Boot échoué en pleine jungle et rongé par le temps et la corrosion.

Ce sous-marin qui prit la mer en mars 1945 à destination du Brésil avec son capitaine et ses quarante-six hommes d’équipage semble avoir fait l’objet d’une malédiction…
